So...sports medicine doc recommendations in Tucson?
Posted January 18th, 2008 by Matt Grabau
A question I was hoping not to have to ask... Does anyone have recommendations for a good sports medicine doctor in the Tucson area?
I am having some pretty intense pain on the back of one of my
knees. It has been off and on for several weeks, and I think the
combination of a couple intense rides over the last couple weeks and
running speed work last night were enough to finally "injure" me. I
have done quite a bit of research, and it looks like hamstring
tendonitis...
Thanks for any help!

Hi Matt
I work with several great Sports Medicine Docs. The main thing you want to do is find one that understands your desire to continue to do your sport. There are many out there that have the attitude "if it hurts when you do that...........STOP doing that!" Of course as an athlete that is completely unacceptable! Also find one that works mostly with the part that you have hurting.
A couple that I would suggest are Dr. G Bradbury. He is smart and thorough and is a triathlete himself. So he underastands your pain. His partner Dr E. Berghausen is also very good. Dr. J Nisbet is also excellent. There are others that are good, but I personally can recommend these guys. From a primary care start, Dr. J Porter at University/Campus health is also very highly regarded. Good luck.
